Syllabus 1: 18 months – 3 years

Path 1.png

This syllabus sees the introduction of very basic ballet movements to orchestrated, percussion and nursery-based music. With you as parent/guardian by their side, children develop confidence, manners and have fun in a safe and caring environment. Simultaneously, your prince or princess will begin to demonstrate contrasting arm/finger dynamics, stretched feet and basic co-ordination. Tiny Tap sees the introduction of basic tap footwork, also to orchestrated, percussive and nursery-based music. Your child will begin to demonstrate feet that are more co-ordinated in terms of articulation, basic co-ordination, a very basic understanding of a rhythm 'type' and different movement dynamics. These classes are irresistible to both children and adults!

To develop....

  • A basic understanding of stretched feet/articulating parts of the body

  • A very basic understanding of elevation

  • A basic understanding of articulated footwork

Syllabus Two: 3 – 4 years

This programme sees a progression from Syllabus One in that - although having fun and developing confidence and social skills are still very much at the forefront of the Princess Ballerina mantra - the beginnings of basic ballet steps and movements are explored in greater depth than Syllabus One. Children are encouraged to take a more independent role, with parents now able to sit at the side/s of the studio, if they wish. Your little one will begin to explore the space around them, co-ordinate the simultaneous movement of two body parts, and develop a greater understanding of their ever-blossoming social skills and classroom etiquette.

To develop....

  • A basic understanding of use - and awareness - of space

  • A basic understanding of co-ordination

  • A very basic understanding of poise and posture

To continue to develop...

  • A basic understanding of articulated footwork

  • A basic understanding of varying movements

  • A basic understanding of rhythm

  • Confidence, social skills and ultimately, have fun!

Timetable:

  • Princess Ballerina Baby Ballet - Saturdays 10.50-11.20am

  • Princess Ballerina Tiny Tap - Saturdays 11.20-11.35am
